I-TECH’s headquarters are at The University of Washington, Seattle. I-TECH India supports human capacity development in HIV/AIDS clinical care in India through trainings for doctors and nurses, technical assistance, and resource materials development. For more information, visit www.go2itech.org VACANT POSITIONS 1) HIV/AIDS Nurse Trainer PRIMARY DUTIES: Program Development: In coordination with I-TECH Nursing Program Coordinator, Nurse Consultants, and other staff, develop Nursing Initiative that will include the expansion of a Continuing Education and Training program for GHTM nurses including advanced training in women’s HIV/AIDS health care Advise and support strategic issues/plans that involve nursing/clinical training and education in HIV/AIDS care Represent I-TECH at various planning and consultation meetings Develop plans to build relationships between hospital nursing care and community/home based care systems Establish I-TECH awareness and presence by networking with nursing/clinical associations such as schools of nursing, Indian Nursing Council (INC), local NGOs and other HIV/AIDS support organizations to build and strengthen relationships Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the India Country Director and I-TECH Nurse Consultants. Curriculum Development: Develop curriculum, training materials, and TOT modules, and adapt to other regional contexts, and update as needed Develop and provide clinical review of multidisciplinary educational materials and patient education materials Training: In coordination with I-TECH Nursing Program Coordinator, Nurse Consultants, and other staff, continue development of training program at GHTM to enhance and expand the role of nurses in multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment Conduct in country trainings targeting nurses, community health workers, and other multidisciplinary staff Identify, screen and recruit nurses to participate in I-TECH local and regional training activities Train and monitor resource persons on the use of I-TECH curricula and on participatory training methods M & E: Work with I-TECH Program Manager and Nursing Activity Program Coordinator to assess and identify specific country/regional training and technical assistance needs for nurses Provide technical input to the M & E team, assisting in the development of needs assessment tools, as well as training evaluation tools. The HIV/AIDS Nurse Trainer will work in collaboration with the I-TECH nursing team which includes the Country Director, Nursing Program Coordinator, and Nurse Consultants. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: B.Sc. Nursing Teaching/training experience Curriculum development experience HIV/AIDS experience Fluency in Tamil, Telugu, and English – reading, writing, speaking Computer skills and familiarity with MSWord and PowerPoint DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: M.Sc. Nursing Hours and Location: Monday-Friday 9-5 (hours may be longer on days that trainings take place). Some Saturdays required with advance notice. Position will be housed at Tambaram. Programme Assistant Duties Provide administrative support to the Senior Office Manager, Deputy Director and Country Director Assist in typing documents, including correspondence, reports, training schedules, invitation letters, certificates, and other written materials. Assist in taking meeting minutes, typing, and disseminating. Assist in formatting, editing, and typing resource and curriculum documents. Assist in maintaining an events calendar. Assist in logistical aspects of large national level training programs, including: Ø Scheduling Ø Registration Ø Copying and distribution of materials Ø Food Ø Media equipment and supplies Ø Room arrangements Ø Transportation and lodging of participants Ø Data entry of evaluations Assist and provide administrative support to other training programs, activities and events of I-TECH, when there is a need. Duration: One-year contract with possible extension based on performance evaluation. Qualifications: The Programme Assistant may be a graduate in any discipline. Have knowledge or interest in HIV/AIDS. She/he must be able to speak, read, write, and type clearly and effectively in both English and Tamil. Knowledge of Telugu (spoken) is preferable. She/he should be able to work independently, give close attention to detail, and possess excellent computer skills including MS Word, Power Point, and Excel. Preferably possess a Secretarial Diploma from a reputed Secretarial School. Interpersonal skills: The Programme Assistant should be able to interact with persons from a variety of professional disciplines and from different levels of society in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Qualities required: Ability to operate independently, with minimal supervision, and anticipate project needs. Organized Punctual Able to set priorities, juggle competing demands.
