Recall of Calcium & Magnesium Softgels Containing Excessive and Potentially Toxic Amounts of Vitamin D

On or about June 7, 2011, NOW Foods announced the following recall to

retailers. ConsumerLab.com was subsequently made aware of the recall by a

ConsumerLab.com member.

NOW Foods is conducting a voluntary recall of the company’s Calcium &

Magnesium Softgels because it has been determined that these products

contain excessive amounts of vitamin D3 (30-40,000 IU per 3 softgel serving

as compared to labeled 600 IU per 3 softgel serving).

NOW Foods has provided information on this voluntary recall to all its

retailers who purchased this product and has encouraged retailers to make

every effort to contact their customers to facilitate the return of affected

products.
