Guest guest
If someone is hyponatremic, I will sometimes use normal saline as a flush. either for all of the free water or 1/2, depending on how low the s. Na is and their hx. a tube feeding question Does anyone use salt water flushes in tube feedings? If so, what is the ratio of salt to water and how much should be given? I have a patient complaining of orthostatic hypotension, prior to the tube feeding, he was drinking Gatorade along with adding salt to his food and he said that helped. Now he is flushing Gatorade and water through the tube and is getting a lot of fluid (210 oz) in addition to the free water in the formula. Any suggestions? Thanks!
