Guest guest
Dear forum, Ref: " Global experts trash NACO's AIDS data " . /message/6905 This is highly provocative. Who are these 'GLOBAL EXPERTS'? Why are they not debating the issue rather than 'trashing' something. Through this forum we asked some statistical and some epidemiological questions to these experts, but have not received proper answers. Our querries were 2: 1. The statistical model looks flawed and has extreme variables (ranging from a mild impact on the epidemic to the tune predicted by existing wisdom to almost an exclusively 'parenteral' epidemic in our country. We wonder then why the epidemic is so far so contained in India? 2. Why the parenteral mode selects people in particular families, young sexually active populations only? Why we could not find numerous unexplained infections among children? Why pediatric infections are around only 10%? etc. There is no denying that the safety situation around health care in Inida is largely pathetic and needs specific interventions for improvement esp as safe health care is/be a basic human right. But the approach need not be a 'trashing' one but of an informed debate. We request other experts also throw some light.
