More than three million people are reached each year. Project Concern International/India (PCI/India) was established in 1997. It maintains a diverse portfolio in ten states in the areas of HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care and Support; Polio Eradication; Water, Sanitation and Environment; Micro-Enterprise, Integrated Health, Community Development, and Training & Resource Development. PCI/India's programmers are participatory, community-driven, gender sensitive, and holistic in nature. 99% of PCI/India staff are local speaking local languages and representing local cultures. Description of Position Project Concern International/India is looking for a committed and focused Woman living with HIV for the position of Advocacy Officer to provide leadership and spearhead PCI advocacy strategies in India. Liaise and maintain relationship with other organizations involved in advocacy and activist work for people living with HIVAIDS. The position requires a graduate with a proven record/ experience of working with HIVAIDS. A person who can deliver effective advocacy plans, with knowledge of the epidemic and current HIVAIDS response by the government or nongovernmental organization in the field of advocacy. Key qualifications: & #61607; A graduate in any discipline & #61607; At least three (3) years relevant experience in HIVAIDS related work. & #61607; Must posses an adequate computer skills including use of internet/ e-mail application, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; & #61607; Team player service-minded and able to work under pressure; and must speak English and have documentation skills. Role and responsibilities • Provide support to team building, motivate and empower PLHAs of the project working at various project locations • Provide HIV/AIDS technical support and assistance, positive living skills to PLHA staff and clients in general • Develop an overall advocacy strategy, treatment education material and coordinate dissemination in close collaboration with project staff • Coordinate and collaborate with partner NGOs for implementation of work place policy on HIV/AIDS • Coordinate with different Donor Agencies including CDC & USAID to incorporate PLHA agenda in their Country Strategy • Strengthen Advocacy component involving GIPA ensuring capacity building • Develop rapport, build alliances, and strengthen linkages and referral networks with various stakeholders at local, national and international level • Writing concept papers, project proposals and Fund raising Salary: competitive All the deserving candidates are encourage to apply to hr@... or send mail to Director HR and Administration, B-7 Extn./110 A, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi 110029 by February 25, 2007.
