Could the MS patient also has a zinc deficiency causing taste change?

I don't think there have been any med changes recently, but have been

considering the zinc deficiency myself....I am thinking of recommending they

check her levels. Any protocols for supplementation?

I have two MS patients. Female age 46, dx at 15 years of age, takes no

Rx meds, never has had a problem with taste changes. Male age 55,

onset at 45, wheel chair bound, on MS chemotherapy injections, no

changes in taste. Every MS pt has different symptoms and I have found

no two that respond the same.

Has anyone considered trying an Oral Zinc Tolerance Test as a indicator for zinc

deficiency? I know of a outpatient nutrition clinic here in the Twin Cities

that offers it and has very good results.
