Carla,

I don't really know the answer to your question, but I will pray for you! I know

how it feels to be in extreme pain, and in your case it doesnt get any easier

going through this alone. We are here for you if you need to vent or just talk

to someone.

Lots of love,

~Deneen

[ ] There has to be something else

Something they've discovered that targets the part of the immune

system that is killing me? Some diet advice (re: the R.A.) that

really helps. Someone that can tell me if the antibiotic pulse

therapy that someone's doing works.

I haven't read or posted for a while, I couldn't keep up with the

volume and somehow I thought I'd remember to read on line.... well,

ooops

I have a good rheumatologist.. but she doesn't give much credence to

nutritional aspects of R.A. -- I was on methotrexate and enbril -- I

kept getting sick. I'm 62, own my own home, own my own car, have

three wonderful dogs and a daughter who lives in a nearby state. My

friends are.. well I have 2 in RI and everyone else is all over the

country but not here.

My Dad died Nov. 19, 2003; Mom died July 2, 2006; my husband of 8

years--- who was taking very good care of me (did dishes, vacuumed,

fed dogs, massaged feet, did laundry and loved me ) died of the

tick-borne disease Babesia on August 30, 2007. We didn't even know

he'd been bitten.

I have clinical depression anyway... I am now taking Arava and

plaquenil and so far no serious infections.. and not much results.

The pain in my body matches the pain in my heart and my left foot and

left ankle are turning to mush... what do I try next. I'm so

scared. I'm 62 and I get so exhausted trying to keep up things.

Thanks

Carla

Carla,

Sorry for your losses.

Your husbands sounded very special.

How long have you been on the arava? I know it takes awhile to kick in.

I take that and MTX .

I don't follow it but I know some on the list have suggested avoiding certain

foods so

maybe they will come forward.

Carla,

I'm so sorry about the recent and unexpected death of your husband and the

loss of your parents, too.

Why not seek a second opinion from another rheumatologist?

Are you seeing someone to help you with your depression? I hope so.

Maybe joining a local support group would be helpful.
