Guest guest
Hi Laurie, The point it TO PUSH it to the limits. However, I'm with you on the tired side! I over did it so I took a week off by recommendation of a trainer. (I didn't WANT to) As I get back to it, I am TIRED! Today was my LB and this afternoon I took a nap! I know I will be so sore tomorrow. I try to remember that when building muscle, the body needs more sleep. I tend to need 9 hours when lifting BFL style. But hey, that's just me. I think it's totally normal. Laurie, I also had such a difficult time hitting my HITTs this weekend! ugh! That being said, I do have a tendancy to have an iron deficiency that can make me tired. Perhaps we both need to have that checked. Anyone else have the Tired Syndrome? Guest guest
I've got the tired syndrome hitting around 2-4pm most days. I nod off if as much as sit down. I am having a crazy-busy week though. Also am craving sweets. Looked at the calendar and could be PMS week--I'm not very regular. I get about 7 hrs. of sleep and need more than that. Power naps are great if you can work them in. Guest guest
It could be from carrying around the extra weight of the cast. We've noticed that Ian lays down a lot when playing with his cars and I chalk it up to the cast. Noelle (12-2-01) Ian (8-15-04) Tired Legs Hello to all, Now that the weather here in Wisconsin was warming up we have spent a lot of time outside. I have noticed that after about 10-15 minutes of Max walking outside in the driveway/yard, he seems to get tired quicker. He sits on the step or even on the ground for a few minutes to rest and then gets up to start playing again. My husband even noticed this and mentioned it to me and I hadn't said anything to him about my concerns before. So I contacted daycare today to see if he gets tired there after being outside. His daycare teacher said yes, on cool/cold days they take the children to the gym, Max prefers to walk instead of riding in the wagon. By the time he gets to the gym he just wants to sit down for a few minutes and then when he's ready, he gets up to play. Please keep in mind he's 21 months old. Also, note he does not complain about being tired/fatigued, justs sits on his own, not bothering anyone. Has anyone noticed this in any of their children with a cast? Max is in his 4th cast. I have not noticed this before, but he started to walk in November (too cold to be outside). Can this be due to the cast? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated before I get too concerned. Thank you, Aekta
Guest guest
Aekta, Is his cast heavy? Is he hard to carry because of the cast? Because that could be why he tires out easily and faster. Is his cast plaster of Paris? Or Fiberglass? You probably know there is a difference in weight between the two. When I was a kid I could never move with my cast on, but I did have a different type of cast than what is used now. But they did use plaster of Paris and they were very heavy. Just an idea. Guest guest
Hi Aekta, My guess it might be the extra weight of the cast. And the fact that it is getting nicer outside and he is really playing hard. had always seemed more tired than and I just assume it was the extra weight of the cast. This cast is all fiberglass and much lighter. I don't notice him getting as tired as he use to. I also give him lots of fuel ALL day long. My boys have both always been under " normal " weight for their age, so the doc says, so I allow them to graze all day. Mostly good stuff. Anyway if you are really concerned call his doc. Is he maybe getting sick? Guest guest
I wonder if Max is going thru a growth spurt & perhaps some growing pains? Max is also below average for weight and has been since birth. I offer him as much food as I can possibly think of. Daycare is nicely structured, with planned meals & snacks. I'll wait for his next cast change (soon) and ask the doctor if there is any association with his legs and the cast. Thank you for your feedback. I have RA. Sometimes when I walk up stairs my legs get very tired and I get out of breath. I've even found it hard to walk up an incline sometimes. I don't have this symptom all the time and I think its worse when my overall symptoms are worse. Does anyone else experience this? As far as tiredness walking up the stairs, you need to ascertain whether your LEGS are tired or your BODY is tired. When I have been anemic my whole body is exhausted after a flight of stairs, I am short of breath, lightheaded and sometimes nearly black out. When it's my legs, I am fine except I rely on the handrail a lot, have to stop halfway up the stairs for a break, and sometimes have to use my hands to push against my legs. Any shortness of breath that occurs when my legs are giving me problems is due to the amount of effort involved in making my legs do what they are supposed to be doing. I have had all sorts of blood tests- 14 vials in one week- and nothing shows but a slight elevation in the ANA. The Rheumy checked my legs and indicated that they were much weaker than " normal " in a person my age. She sent me to a neurologist last week for an EMG (I am also having symptoms of peripheral neuropathy) and will get the report next week. When I mentioned the tiredness in my legs he did not seem surprised. My grandmother (who will be 93 years old this May!) has had RA for over 60 years now and has severe peripheral neuropathy. She tells me that she has had the same symptoms for decades. ~Marie ~Mari
Guest guest
EZ I have the same problem. I go upstairs and have to stop at the top because my leg feel like they are going out from under me. I had it happen several years ago but it was related to taking a statin for high cholesterol but I am wondering if that was the start of the RA knocking on the door.
