Hello Everyone,

With permission from , here's a study for those with REALLY BAD chronic pain

from RA or OA or could be cancer or low back pain who live in the greater Boston

and Atlanta areas. How bad is " really bad " ? You are using heavy-duty pain meds

frequently, and pain is bad enough that you might need to bring a caregiver with

you to the interview.

Good news - the age range is 20+. That means 65+ is OK. Please feel free to

pass this information on to anyone who you think might qualify. All

participants need to have computer access in some fashion. As always, the

information gathered is kept confidential. You will not be solicited as a

result of your participation. Both studies are held at research facilities. I

will give details when I speak with you.

We are doing 1-on-1 interviews at various times during the day.

BOSTON Wednesday, April 30

ATLANTA Monday, May 6

As part of this study, you will need to fill out a 5 consecutive day diary in

which you will write your thoughts and feelings re your daily pain management

regimen.

BOSTON folks: You will need to begin this tomorrow (Sunday, Apr. 27) at the

latest, as you will have to recall what happened today, Saturday, since the

study is 5 days from today. PLEASE CALL ASAP.

ATLANTA folks: You will need to start the diary on Weds. April 1.

If interested, please send the following information to my other email account

(which I check all the time. Also use the other if you have questions.)

That email is: rudeutsch@...

Name

Age

Day phone

Evening phone

Boston folks: How late can I call you on Sunday? (I'm in CA.)

What condition(s) do you have that resulted in chronic pain?

What Rx meds are you currently taking for pain?

Education

Thank you.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Why is the age range 20+?

It's not fair, I'm only 17 and I've been in a lot of pain, and it's

not juvi rheum, even though I'm so young. I don't get it.

Plus, then I could continue fencing, which could help me with a lot of

scholarships for college, and $145 would really help pay for gas.
