Guest guest
Hi Barbara, Sorry list for that empty email , compliments of wild finger. Thanks for your nice email. I got no sleep last night, used ice alternating hips, etc. I already feel a change, its just the pain from the shots, I really believe that by Monday, things will be good again! I wont be walking a marathon but I'll be walking! My rheumy called me this am to see how i was feeling and also to let me know that i am totally depleted of Vitamin D....never in his 16 years has he gotten a test result back with a neg 15 microcausm??? I may have totally screwed that up so if it makes no sense, sorry! I already take calcitriol and otc calcium. Now he's added 50000 IU green horse pills to be taken 1 time per week. lordy, what next? But I don't feel sick without vitamin d, just know that i'd rather have it in my system! Thanks for listening. Am hoping to get some sleep tonight. Hope you are all feeling well! Guest guest
Hi Heidi in Massachusetts, Sharon in NJ formerly of Cape Cod...sorry to hear you had such a rough time. Geez, I'm getting problems with my right hip and I was imagining what happened to you...happening to me too. Where did you have this procedure done? I can't imagine it. I just started seeing a doctor here in NJ and while I think they could be doing more...they did at least fill out my application for handicapped parking. I sent it in today and hopefully I'll get it in about 3 weeks...so they say. In the meantime, I'm using one that belonged to my Mother. Totaly against the law but I'll have my own soon. I just got copies of my labs and Dexa scan from my doctor on the Cape..I have to copy it for my local doctor. I had a good repore with my health care providers up there...they're seriously lacking down here. I'm going to a local Rheumy here and hopefully she will restore my faith in the medical profession once again LOL!! I'm sure on 6A you have a ton of flowers blooming and they should make you feel very happy these days. I'm so homesick I could cry. By the way feel free to write off board if you'd like. It would be great to have another Cape friend. I hope you're feeling better soon. Guest guest
Hi Sharon: Barbara in Florida, Formerly Cape Cod too!!! I know how hard it is to move and start over trying to find a good Rheumy, etc. I found my wonderful P.C.P. first, then he recommended my Rheumy. She is so wonderful, smart, and very caring. I am glad you are getting your handicap tag. Makes things easier going to the store on those painful days. We all have to do what we have to do, to help make things easier in our life.. We sold our contemp. cape home because I couldn't do the stairs anymore, etc. Plus, I was diagnosed with R.A. in Dec. 2003, and that winter was the worst for me. I was almost wheelchair bound. We decided to move to Florida, and arrived here July 2004. The weather here is so much better for me, even though I still have bad flare-ups. I have longer periods between them, and I am grateful for that. Like you, I am homesick for my family and friends, but oh, how I miss my beloved Cape Cod. Have spent my entire life vacationing there, and living in that wonderful place. I hope the Rheumy you found works out good for you. If not, keep searching until you find one that is perfect for you. I hope your hip feels better, and you have pain free days. I know what you are going through, as everyone here does. Glad you found this wonderful group of caring people. It makes a big difference knowing that someone does care, and if having a bad day, it is a good place to vent, etc. We all understand the frustration in having bad days, too much pain to deal with, and our lives changing, sometimes not for the better. It was good your blood test showed your lack of vit, D, so now you can take mega doses to bring it up to a norm. level. I never heard of that also. I also had a very low level of Magnessium, so I am taking mega doses of that. Never heard of that before either!!! A good thing we all have reg. blood labs. done. Catch things early. Once again, hope you have pain free days soon. Spring is in the air, and how wonderful it is to be alive to enjoy all the flowers, and all the birds singing. I woke up early this a.m. to birds chirping and singing, and when I opened the blinds, the birds were in my birdbath!!!! How great was that!!! Hugs, Barbara [ ] Re: Todays Drs. visit Hi Heidi in Massachusetts, Sharon in NJ formerly of Cape Cod...sorry to hear you had such a rough time. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I'm so glad you found a place to live that offes a less painful existence for you. I have tried FL on a few occasions but I have my elderly mother here in NJ and even besdies that...I can't stand the heat. I was in the grocery store here a few weeks ago..it was 55* out but warmer in the store and I passed out! I have no tolerance for heat at all!! I need cool dark places to survive the summmer. Can't tolerate the heat or the sunshine. I'm going to hang onto the doctor I have now for a little while longer. I will have my health insurance (assuming I can keep the job I'm starting tomorrow) in August. I see a Rheumy on the 24th of June. I want to see what she comes up with. Funny but I went to pick up a script at CVS and I saw they still had my Cape address on the bottle. I wish I were still living there. I keep waiting to win the lottery so I can go back LOL!! I visit but it's not the same. Take care and I'm so glad you're doing well in FL, Sharon in NJ > > > > Hi group, > > > > Well I survived getting those rotten hip shots....I obviously was > in tons of > > pain because he had to touch them again before the shot and I just > cried. > > Then to roll over on the one that was just done was excruciating. > As I write > > this the Novocain is beginning to wear off and I'm starting to > throb.
