New HIV/AIDS Coordinaton Initiative in Manipur

Greeting from Imphal, Manipur!

On 29th December 2006, the Project Director, Dr.Pramod Kumar of Manipur AIDS

Control Society have coordinated the First State level Cross Cutting partner and

all the Bilateral donors who are working in Manipur in the field of HIV/AIDS at

the conference hall of MSACS.

It was the first time in Manipur of having such a coordination meeting and there

were discussed the challenges and achievement of the respected organization.

During the meeting, representatives from Clinton Foundation, PATH, Constella

Futures Group, Care India, DKT India, PFI, CRS,World Vision, India HIV/AIDS

Alliance, PCI, Elton Foundation, WHO, UNICEF ad Salvation Army have

participated to discuss the achievement accomplished so far by the respective

agencies.

Members present at the meeting proposed to make a forum called " Manipur State

Facilitation Forum " and a draft a mandate for which will be finalized in the

next meeting on January 2007. Members also agreed of coordinating through the

E-group in Manipur for sharing and learning the experiences of HIV/AIDS in

Manipur.

The Coordination meeting help the opportunity of address the issues and finding

the solution for the program development in the Manipur.

Thanks Project Director and Colleagues in the SACS-Manipur for the new

Initiatives in the Manipur for the development of AIDS Competence.
