I asked my rheumatologist about taking fish oil, and she said that it

has been proven to help RA, but you have to take it in such high doses

that fish oil literally leaks out of you (kind of like what happens

with Olestra (the oil they tried in potato chips).

Hi,

I am taking it for natural cholerstol but then my ra doc told me I could

safely take 10,000 IU as it helps with inflammation in some patients. Ask your

doc about it. It's helped me.

I tried to take fish oil but had to stop. Every time I burped, which seemed

to be more often, it tasted of raw fish. I couldn't take that!

I noticed this week at Sam's Club that they now have fish oil with an enteric

coating which reportedly eliminates the fishy burp.

I never have had that problem and I take a high dose - 10,000 IU a day AND I get

the kind that doesn't taste fishy or make you burp. I had gotten the so called

fishy kind before and I still never got the fishy taste. Now I get it at Sam's

- it's cheaper. It probably depends on the person about the " ew " and the

burping. Maybe a lower dose or what I do, is I don't take it all at one time. I

break it down into 4 times a day.

I use a product called Res-Q 1250. It never has that fishy taste at

all. It also helps maintain you cholesterol and blood sugar levels if

they are elevated due to medication such as prednisone.

WE buy our fish oil capsules at Sam's Club also so it doesn't make me

burp either. We also buy our Co Q 10 at Sam's.
