Guest guest
Carol, This isn't OT. So, you are saying you are younger than 50, have hard and tender scalp arteries, and are RF negative? Do you have any other symptoms or abnormal labs? This isn't a common symptom of RA, but it could be related to some sort of vasculitis (which can be associated with RA). Guest guest
Hi , Yes, I am 40, RF negative and it hurts to even touch my scalp. I have many other SX, all which are blamed on Osteoarthritis, or totally have the Dr's baffled. I was 32 when my joints first started hurting and locking up, especially my hands and right elbow, which required prednisone and lidocaine to make usable...Now it is both knees and hips , both elbows, sometimes wrists and hands and lower spine.I was treated with prednisone, again for my spine and hips. I went through the usual merry-go-round of medical tests and RXs. PCP and Rheumy ruled out SLE,RA,and FMS/CFIDS. My last sed rate was 32, with high Neutrophils/low lymphocytes. This means I'll be going back for new labs. I have no other signs of an infection, anywhere. This is not the first time my scalp has hurt, just the worst. I thought it was migraine related. Guest guest
Carol, Scalp tenderness can be associated with migraines. How often do you have them? Guest guest
, I do have complicated migraines, 1-6 per month. Some last for 72+ hours and then I go to the ER. I was diagnosed with a thrombosed cerebral aneurysm 4 years ago. The scalp tenderness rarely happens during a migraine. Thank you for giving me another clue as to a possible cause. I wonder if it is part of the migraine issue, not the RA. --- In , " " <Matsumura_Clan@...> wrote: > > Carol, > > Scalp tenderness can be associated with migraines.
