Guest guest
Yes!! I am so sorry you are in pain and not able to receive the help you deserve. I don't know if in this case your doctors are trying to protect the baby from becoming addicted to the meds or not but this is a problem in general -- finding adequate pain relief, that is. I cannot tolerate most narcotics or pain meds. So that is very unfortunate for me but it doesn't stop doctors ER, rheumys, GP, etc from making that assumption right off the bat. When first moving here to Georgia 10 years ago I didn't accept a prescription for prednisone. I was there at a nurse's request asking about gamma- Linolenic acid (GLA). I had met a nurse in a Spanish class I was taking and she encouraged me to seek out a doctor to ask about GLA. Well immediately this particular doctor took offense and told me I was trying to tell him how to do his job. That has been my experience with the doctors here ever since and thus I have gotten horrible pain control and RA control for the past 10 years while living here. I blame most of my deformities on their unwillingness to individualize my care even after seeing me react to the medications. I met a lady in the mall with RA who referred her doctor to me. She had tremendous deformities as well before finding this doctor but says this doctor won't stop until she finds a therapy that works for you. Not sure where you live but with RA doctors being in short supply you may be experiencing what I have experienced with RA docs and need to keep looking for the right doctor or it could be your doctors are concerned for the baby's health. --- In , " Peek " <wendyhollander@...> wrote: > > I am getting SO frustrated about having to BEG for pain medication!!! both my OB and > rheumy have prescribed propoxyphene for me while pregnant (this pregnancy and/or last), > but are now in a " get her to do it " - " no, let him do it " back and forth with me caught in the > middle. i am NOT experiencing remission like last pregnancy and NEED PAIN MEDS!!! do any > of you experience this reaction from docs as though you are simply drug-seeking? >
