Guest guest
After further investigation, speaking to my physician and an allergist, I wanted to share with all of you what I found out. Since my son was born in 1983 I have been allergic to Latex. Additionally, living in South Florida for a number of years, I had became aware of an allergic reaction to the skin of Mangos. I can eat them, but I cannot touch them. I also have skin sensitivities to various ornamental tall grasses. I have hence learned that all of these are some what related - either directly or indirectly to a potential pistachio allergy. Surprising how one thing leads to another. > Yesterday I got deathly ill. Symptoms onset about 2 1/2 of eating raw > pistachios. I am not sure if it was because they were rancid or I > discovered I am allergic to them. > > I had purchased bulk, raw pistachios. I had them at work, not stored in a > refrigerator or anything. I had them for about 7 days. I would put them > in yogurt or snack on them in the afternoon. When I received them they > tasted different from the other pistachios I had purchased in bulk. These > were not raw. > > The symptoms I experienced was abdominal cramping, diarrhea, and > diaphoresis. These symptoms can be present if you also eating rancid > nuts. The nuts tasted vaguely different, but did not seem to smell badly. > I have not experienced allergic symptoms in the past. > > I will appreciate anyone's feedback and commentary...thanks, Carol > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > *Pistachio nut allergy is common in some sensitive individuals.
