Guest guest
Lixuan: I am assuming you were prescribed Lyrica for Fibromyalgia. As far as I know, Lyrica is not a pain reliever per se in how it works, although it has been shown to help some people with fibro. Lyrica is mostly used to treat (neuropathic) nerve pain and for seizures in conjunction with other seizure medications. It has only recently been approved as the 1st treatment for fibro. I tried Lyrica and it didn't work for me, even after doubling my dosage. The only thing that happened was I felt even more tired and gained a tremendous amount of weight in a short period of time (in one week, I gained 8 pounds!). My dr. gave me samples because some of his patients have had success with it. If you need a pain reliever, then tell your doctor that. Mine prescribed Tylenol #3 with codeine because it's been effective for me in the past. You and your dr. have to find what works for you. I take the pain killer only when I need it. My suggestion is, call your dr. and request a prescription be called in for pain relief. You should not have to hurt that much all the time. in Texas °²Á¢Ýæ <lixuan68@...> wrote: Hi all, i was put on Lyrica for a week and it literally turned me into a psycho. i just spoke to my doctor and he said to stop. but now what do i do? i'm so desperate for pain relief. thanks for your advise! lixuan
