Guest guest
Hi, I am currently being treated with Medrol for joint pain, swelling and stiffness amd weakness. The joints that are bothered are on both sides left and right Toes, knees, fingers, wrists, shoulders, and my jaw. They said this all could be from a virus like Fifths disease or ra or another rheumatological cause. I have had the symptoms since January but there was a little break at some point. The pain and stiffness was unbearable until the Medrol kicked in it was so hard to do anything...hold a cup, walk, sleep. Could this all be from repetitive motion ? I was thinking it could be when it started in my fingers and wrists but when my shoulders and feet and jaw got involved I thought that it must be RA. Does repetitive motion aggrevate your symptons of ra? I am finding that typing seems to be bothering my wrists and fingers again. I am suppose to start tapering off the Medrol today and am so afraid of going back to feeling that way again, even if it is just to see if it was in fact a virus or if it is ra or lupus or something. I never though arthritis could be so painful.
Guest guest
If the Medrol made you feel so much better, it isn't viral. At least that's what my rheummy told me. A viral induced arthritis should hit hard and slowly get better, not come and go and not respond to steroids. That was one of the ways we were able to help diagnose my seronegative RA. > > Hi, > I am currently being treated with Medrol for joint pain, swelling and > stiffness amd weakness. ....I am suppose to start tapering off the Medrol today and > am so afraid of going back to feeling that way again, even if it is > just to see if it was in fact a virus or if it is ra or lupus or > something.
