Guest guest
, Some people go into remission or get great control of symptoms with the right med combo and some of us have a harder time and are happy to have our symptoms somewhat controlled. And with RA the situation can change from day to day-one day almost normal and the next everything hurts. I have had to slow down some (I was always extrememly high enery and acitive) and modify the way I do some things but most things do get done. My husband opens jars for me if he is around and if not I have Jar opener that I use. I have lost a lot of strenght in my hands and can not grip and lift things and move furniture that I once could but that is when grown sons come it handy. You just learn to adapt and go on with life. you can't give in to it and let it defeat you. Hopefully you will find the right med combo andhardly know that it is present. linda thea7441 <thea7441@...> wrote: Hello Everyone, I am new to the group, and I've recently been diagnosed with RA. I have had CML (leukemia) since 2000, and take the drug Gleevec. Now my doctors are trying to see if I can take methotrexate or paquinal with Gleevec. I really would like to take methotrexate, as I hear it is the best, but I'm not sure yet if I can. I hear that methotrexate supresses your bone marrow, and I take Gleevec which also supresses your bone marrow. By the way, I've been in complete molecular remission on Gleevec since 2000. So, I have a few questions...does the pain of RA ever go away? Every joint in my hands, and my wrists, are in a great deal of pain. I feel as if my wrists are breaking any time I lift things. Will this go away once the doc's put me on paquenal, which is what I think they're going to start me on next week. I do take Alieve, and I've been given a script for naproxin. This is new to me, and the symptoms just started last fall, so I would appreciate any advice. Guest guest
Jar openers are great but the electric one touch can opener is a blessing from above. I can make my pasta sauce again.
