Guest guest
Hi Heidi,I have had cervical spine surgery,(3vert. unstable)and lumbar spine surgery twice.Even though the surgery gave me great relief, there are times when my neck aches and I get pain down my arms,or numbness in my fingers.I go to a Pain management specialists, and he does epidural shots in my neck.He uses a (brain fart here) a machine that looks like an x-ray but in real time,he can see exactly where his needle is going.he injects (another bf) numbing meds first. It is a painful procedure, and I have heard some docs use more sedatives but mine doesn't.The effects of the epidural for me are immediate,I am sore so I usually use an ice pack and rest until I get over the precedure.I have had 3 so far,and the effects last any where from 6mths to 18 mths.It has been worth it for me.I hope you have a good experience, and get some pain relief. hugs,Sherry --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
