Guest guest
This will go away after you've been on this for a while. The carb craving should go away. I don't know how long you've been doing BFL but initially there is both a mental and a physical " drying out " period from your old way of eating. Be patient and this too shall pass. Guest guest
Lindsey - I totally have this problem! I crave sweets or anything else besides protein in the afternoon - I've almost attributed it to either boredom or being tired. Maybe pick a chore to do, or, when I was more dedicated I would make a protein shake my last meal, while I was in bed, reading. And of course I'd make it a chocolate one, or a mocha one, and that pretty much did it. I knew I had that to look forward to. Maybe put your shake for the mid-afternoon meal? Hope that helps! http://qwesteferral.com/r.jsp?a=Fmu9DBSgHpRfVU541Lz2HA$$ & x Does anyone have this problem? I have a problem ... I eat great during the day, but at night I just want to eat sweet things even though I am not hungry. I try writing down what I plan to eat, but that does not seem to work. I have tried to distract myself, but then I start obsessing (sp?) about food. AAAHHH! I am driving myself crazy, I usually end up cheating or thinking about food all night. Has anyone ever had this problem? Why am I setting myself to fail when I want to succeed? Any help would be great. Thanks Lindsey
Guest guest
Yes, I've had that, too! I bought a big bottle of vitamin C chewables and I take one of those at night. It's sweet (probably not the best way to take C?) but it helps curb my sweet tooth. Then I fix a cup of green tea and add a packet of Splenda to it. By the time I finish sipping that, the sweet urge usually passes. If these don't do the trick, I make my last meal a protein bar. I use the EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control chocolate bars-- 210 cals: 6g fat/25g pro/20g carb (3g impact). I get them from WalMart. I don't find I need them much anymore, but at first it helped to have that to fall back on as my last meal. HTH, Marie P.S. I also liked Dr. Phil's suggestion of just doing something else at those weak moments when you want to eat-- because those moments will pass...Do something that doesn't enable you to eat. Dance to music, brush your teeth, take a shower, play an instrument, go for a walk, write a letter, read to your children, knit, sew...something that distracts you from eating and puts you where you can't eat at that moment. I've not had to try this lately, but I'd like to! > I have a problem ... I eat great during the day, but at night I just > want to eat sweet things even though I am not hungry. Guest guest
Is it normal for the tops of both feet to feel like bricks? I can barely lift them up to walk. Earlier today, I had walked a bit on my treadmill, but at the same speed and the same amount of time that I normally do. I laid down for awhile after walking to rest and read. I just stood up to take a shower, and there is both pain, stiffness, feet feel like a cement brick and I have to drag them to walk. I'd call the rheumatologist but they would probably just tell me as usual that they do not know what it is. I don't go back until June and she is 3 hours away. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
Hi : Boy, your feet sound like mine when my RA is bad. I can hardly stand on them, they feel so heavy and I don't have much balance, making me afraid I might fall. Plus, the pain is so bad, I could scream!!!! When they are this bad, I stay in bed, or sit in my lounge chair with my feet up. I also have a very bad nodule on the outside of my arch on my right foot. That sucker is so painfull too. I never knew feet could feel like bricks, hard to lift and walk, etc. I saw the Foot Dr., he ordered some shoe inserts for both feet, a reg. pair, and another pair of inserts for when my feet were bad. They have helped tremendously. I also had to order my walking shoes, a size larger. I have to remove the insides of the shoes to accomidate the new inserts. He recommended 5 diff. brands, and I chose Reebok running shoes as he suggested. I always bought cross-trainers, or walking shoes by Reebok. I hope this info. helps you. I sure hope your feet feel better soon. I care, Barbara P.S. I can't wear anything but tie shoes. Nothing supports my feet as good as them. [ ] Does anyone have this problem? Guest guest
Hi Barbara! Thank you so much! Today when the nurse called me from the rheumatologists office, I told her my feet felt like bricks. She started laughing! So I thought I was explaining it the wrong way! Then she said it was cute even though it probably didn't feel cute! They were so heavy I couldn't lift them and felt kind of numb as time went on. Now, the numbness is gone after using heat on them all day, but there is a throbbing stabbing occassional pain! I think I'm going to be visiting a podiatrist very soon:)! Guest guest
Thank you Rita! Me too! Today, when I went to call the doctor after doing this post, my first thought was " this doctor is going to think I'm psychotic! " I couldn't even wiggle my toes, or make the feet flex or bend or move them side to side..they were just bricks!! Hopefully, tomorrow it will be better! The past two weeks are the first problems I have had like this. I used to get it where my hands felt like cement or really heavy all the time. So when this happened I didn't know what to think!
