COMPLETE STUPIDITY - (See article below)

I guess my entire family is blessed with " iron-clad stomachs " - we always

just considered NOT having stomach issues as NORMAL, thank you/thank God.

I DO not consider getting any stomach upset from spices, citrus or greasy

foods to be normal. Yet, this article says " obviously. " Give me a BREAK!

Folks, NORMAL is eating anything and everything you want without ANY

stomach or GI distress!

That's why I love LEAP - it helps people that have food issues get closer

to normal!

PS. Recently, when speaking with somebody about diet/food poisoning, he

said, " Oh, everybody gets diarrhea. " This is SO untrue!

So, that is the misconception we have to fight against. People do NOT get

diarrhea unless there's a PROBLEM that should be solved! (I get this is a

GI doc speaking, he deals with the part of the population that DOES have GI

issues - but don't assume everybody is like your patients, any more than a

urologist should suggest urinary infection or kidney failure are normal.)

Sigh. . . off my rant now.

BALTIMORE -- Unless you're lucky enough to have an iron-clad stomach,

chances are you've probably had your share of tummy aches over the years.

Doctors say that's a common problem caused by various reasons, starting

with what people put on their plates.

Mercy Medical Center gastroenterologist Dr. Desi said sometimes

it's food that triggers an upset stomach.

" Obviously, spicy foods are going to do it. Greasy, heavy, fatty foods and

oily foods tend to slow down the emptying of the stomach and tend to cause

more discomfort of the stomach, " he said. " And citrusy foods you always

have to be careful with -- things like orange juice or anything else that's

kind of acidic. "

Desi warned that if stomach pain continues, it's important to see a doctor

to rule out a serious problem.

" Is there something else going on that this is a common occurrence? Some

of those things may wind up being ulcer disease, gastritis or stomach cancer,

which are less common. You want to make sure that that's not one of the

cases, or any other digestive maladies that may be masking or mimicking

themselves as an upset stomach, " he said.

Desi said stress also plays a part. That's why some people can enjoy foods

that normally upset their stomachs when they're relaxed and on vacation.
