New Member - Introduction

Hi, my name is Daun. I'm a 29/F, and I live in Denver. My medical

history is complex but includes fertility issues, endometriosis,

surgical menopause, and now fibromylagia (sp?).

I went to see my family physician today for bone pain, muscle cramps and

joint pain. I had very mild, but similiar, pain when I took my Lupron

injections last year. ***Note - As a medical professional, I along with

my physician agreed to use it as a treatment option. It worked for me,

and I agree to deal with any side effects. I was fully aware at the

time I took it (for 4 months) that this medication can have some

interesting side effects.***

Now I have pain in my neck, upper back, shoulders, elbows, wrists,

fingers, hips and knees. I also have plantar fasciitis, and some other

injuries from track seasons long ago (torn hamstring, chin splints).

Between all this, and my new found menopause I'm kind of a cranky

gal!!!! I have the neck pain for many years, and we always thought it

was due to a pinched nerve, however, it lines up with one the so called

" tender points. " I also have some other issues like dry eyes, dry mouth

and some bathroom issues.

I grew up in a household where my mother had endometriosis,

fibromylagia, tendonitis, bursitis, RA and a multitude of different

health issues. What do I remember from my mother's treatment regimen?

She was a zombie. She was on heavy doses of medications that didn't

work, and she wasn't able to have a life.

It is my goal to find treatment that works for me, and that I'm not a

zombie, and I would like to find a good physician that will work with my

family physician. I am not oposed to alternative treatments at all,

infact I used many during my fertility treatment. I want to be able to

participate in my everyday life comfortably as possible. I lead a busy,

stressful life. I am married, no kids, and I work in a Blood Bank in a

busy hospital. Rather than kids (we will adopt someday!), we have

furries! Right now we have 2 dogs, Dr. Orpheus and Emma Frost. Three

cats - Stitch, Tigger, and Monarch. Two Robo Dwarf Hammies - Mischief

and Trouble. One Geril - Mr. Glass. We are also working on remodeling

the home we bought almost 2 yrs ago.

I look forward to learning many new things, and meeting new people.
