Guest guest
I know we have had some ladies on here have RA and pregnant...and I have a question Has anyone on the list dealt with a pregnancy and postpartum while having advanced RA? Like a stage III or a stage IV RA? I worry more about the actual delivery process and how you dealt with a newborn with active RA. I am 32 and have had RA for 12 years. Unfortunately, some joints are long overdue to be replaced, namely my knees and some fingers. My wrists are just about ready to self fuse. Right now I am maintained on 4mg pred. and Lodine until my RD thinks he can talk me into Rituxin since that is the last thing to try. I had my tubes tied in 1997 and reconsidering, THINKING about having a tubal ligation reversal. There are other factors to consider aside from RA, like our only child is a Type 1 Diabetic. I am considering genetic counselling beforehand if we do decide to proceed. However, being an only child, and my husband being an only child I would love for my son to have some family after we are gone. Perhaps a bad reason, but it is my own. I worry about such things.
