Guest guest
, do you have an idea of what type of craft(s) you might be interested in? The internet is an invaulable resource for many people that either live in rural areas or are unable to get out often for a variety of reasons. Personally, I belong to several bead/jewelry groups through , ebay, and a couple of other places and have learned so much along with making friends that I will cherish for a lifetime! Guest guest
Hi Judy! I found a bead shop in the yellow pages today. I thought I'd give them a call to see if they offer any classes or know of anywhere I can take one. I think a jewelry making class would be really fun! I looked at Krasl Art Centers website yesterday (its in my area). They had some classes that already started but might have some more for summer. They had one class where you take two of my favorite things: the written language and books and make a work of art. They use old books and phrases, wording from the books to make art projects. That one would be perfect! I hope they offer it again this summer. That's something I could probably do at home too. I just still have to take one outside of the home too. I love some of the beaded projects I have found on ebay!! J Acciarito <jacyone@...> wrote: , do you have an idea of what type of craft(s) you might be interested in? Guest guest
I realize this topic has been discussed quite a bit but I hope you all won't mind one more suggestion. Many senior centers do crafts on a regular basis and not only do you get to make different things, but also meet some different people. You might want to check it out. Guest guest
Thank you for that suggestion Colleen! I will ask if they will let me come. They have this daycare in our area for agency, that's free so I could get out and spend days with someone instead of being alone all day. They wouldn't let me do some programs because I'm only 36, but I will try to see if they will let me! I'd love that:) cmcpherson <cmcpherson@...> wrote: I realize this topic has been discussed quite a bit but I hope you all won't mind one more suggestion. I love making art journals although mine are mostly rubber stamping picture sort or have a stamped phrase with them. There are a number of art journal groups on although, they are not high volume. Guest guest
OOh great idea! Thank you! I love journals and have boxes of blank ones from Italy that I won off of ebay! I'll have to research those groups! I found that my local Joann's offers lots of classes (surprising since I am in a small area!) Many are at times of days that I cannot go, so I am trying to see if they have any on Saturdays. My doctor told me to try community libraries too so I will check on that as well. Great idea! I never thought of art journals and I LOVE stamping catstamp <catstamp@...> wrote: ----- Original Message ----- From: " stephanie " <stephieann2@...> >They had one class where you take two of my favorite things: the written >language and books and make a work of art.
