Guest guest Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 Job announcement: Data Assistant Data Assistant (DA) - Monitoring and Evaluation for Chennai Applications are invited for the position of a part-time Data Assistant (DA) at Chennai for the Monitoring & Evaluation (M & E) activities of a comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment program in Tamil Nadu, which includes provision of antiretroviral therapy. The program is directed by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) and is currently being implemented through Government Medical Colleges located at each of the three sites – Kilpauk Medical College Hospital (KMC) in Chennai, Salem Medical College Hospital in Salem, and Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital in Tirunelveli. The M & E activities of this program are being coordinated by Duke University's Global Health Institute through its Monitoring & Evaluation Project office in Chennai. The DA will report to the Site Supervisor (SS), Chennai. Skills and experience Candidates with a Bachelors Degree in social work/sociology/ psychology or allied disciplines in the Humanities will be preferred. Experience in working with HIV-infected and affected populations, in conducting interviews and in the administration of structured surveys will be an asset. The candidate should be proficient in Tamil, must have basic computer skills (Excel, Word processing, MS Access), and should be willing to work on part-time basis. S/he must also be willing to assist in administrative work at the Project Office. Responsibilities The job responsibilities of the DA will include collating patient data through review of medical records and entering patient data into the database. Expected number of hours per week for this part-time position is 30- 35 hrs. Salary commensurate with experience and will be on part-time basis.
