Guest guest
Hi Ebony.... I have increased my veggie intake by at least 10 fold since August....when I had my heart attack. I do find that any of the peppers, be it bells or chili peppers tend to bother my gout and OA. Since my OA is more severe than most anyone on this list...probably...but not for sure....but my Orthopedic Docs have all told me I am their worst case scenerio with OA.... so dealing with the OA pain is of upmost concern for me. My problem with chili peppers is I tend to crave them...as I grew up in the El Paso/Juarez area, and I love Mexican food. To me...chili's are their own food group!!!! LOL As for fish....I love it when I can get good fresh fish...especially Tuna....but again ...you have to be careful...so I mainly tend to buy fresh water fish. Well...its time to get some shut eye....I have to be ready for my kids in the morning!!! Guest guest
Hi Larry and hello to the board as well. Well, it sounds like you are on the right track. Continued success with your health and happy to see you survived your MI. With your new way of life you should avoid another one of those. I pray that you never experience that again. I know what you mean about chilli's being a food group of their own. I love them too! I don't know why but I love Mexican foods. I grew up on soul food. I love vegetables, especially greens and I also love candied yams, potato salad, all kinds of beans, fried corn, fried catfish, etc. Of course I can't eat any of them anymore, I can only smell those foods now as others walk by me with them. I'll have to be happy with that. LOL! I do love Italian foods, Chinese, Indian chicken tikka masala, also gyros, etc. So I guess it is safe to say I love food in general regardless of whose culture it originated from and if it is spicy even better. Only thing now I have to make sure the RA likes it too. So my choice of foods are pretty bland now. I have been eating a lot of the talapia fish but like the wild Alaskan salmon for the RA. Taking cod liver oil now for the omega-3's. Get some rest. I am up early. but will nap again later this afternoon. blessings to you and your kids.
