Re: ADA speeds up it's race for Monopoly

A friend sent it to me BUT since I do not live in Colorado, I didn't read

it. I could care less what quacksters say. An Indian Chief derailed

Virginia's licensure law.

I don't know anything about Colorodo, but to the best of my understanding that's

not the case in VA:

" Licensure of RDs in Virginia will have no impact on nutrition related

businesses. Similar legislation has been enacted in 35 states and there have

been no reports of negative impact on businesses and none is expected in

Virginia when dietitians are licensed. Licensure can be achieved without

creating burdens on dietitians, facilities in which they work or the general

public. It will not prevent other professionals from practicing within their

scope of practice or prevent free trade and competition among nutrition related

retail operations. "

I really appreciated the system in DC, because anyone who had nutrition training

could sit for an exam and become an LN (licensed nutritionist) So as long as you

could demonstrate you had the knowledge, there was no exclusion.
