But, WHYYYYY??????????

What's wrong with this State???

Holy Mother of God. This is going back in time to the Inquisition, the

Dictatorships, the USSR. So now we can't even eat? Soon we'll all be cows

MOOOING in the pastures, producing yellow processed plastic cheese directly

from our udders painlessly in the State of Bliss and wlfar.

I sure hate to see my hard earned dollars pay taxes for the likes of me.

Now I really must get my Spanish passport so I can at least go eat foie-gras

and chorizos in Spain.

These are the animal rights groups. I love foie gras but can see the issue w

animal cruelty here yet I disagree with any rules that are strict like that.

Soon we will all be forced to be vegetarians. I love my meat! This is , as u

said, going in the wrong directions :(

While I've never liked Foie Gras (I hate any liver) and don't condone inhumane

farming; this ban is really overstepping the line of individual rights & moving

more towards a " big brother " mentality. I cannot see this passing any state

legal review (i.e. it's more than likely unconstitutional and would be struck

down by the courts).  For the same reason one can't ban caged poultry/eggs,

can't ban veal, and we can't even ban cigarettes (just tax them).

It should remain an individual choice to eat or not eat (and to support or

boycott) the raising/distributing/selling of any food (as long as it is not

poisoned or adulterated).  Health care professionals can educate but we cannot

legislate the banning of unhealthy foods/beverages or those that may have been

raised in less than ideal conditions.

Holly,

I agree with you wholeheartedly. This is exactly what I fear we are heading with

this law passed (Past term!) in California.
