Guest guest
I all, hope everyone is well and as pain free as we can be. I just got on medicaid and I want to talk to my rheumatologist about getting back on an infusion type of therapy. Does medicaid cover medications like remicade, humeria, enbral, or orencia? When I was first diagnosed 7 years ago, I was put on remicade from the get go and it was the best medication regimne I have been on. I moved from Los Angeles to Denver and my new rheumatologists didn't think I needed to be on such an aggressive type of medicaion. She put me on sulfasalazine, plaquinel and diclofenic and I have been on them ever since. I am hoping that I can get back on remicade or another infusion type therapy but I am not too sure if medicaid will cover it. Thanks for all your support. Guest guest
Hi ! I sure hope that it does! Does your state have a site that you can go to for Department of Health and Human Services? Ours had a link that showed which providers accepted Medicaid and drugs that were covered. Michigan has now gone to managed health care plans, you have to select one of several options that they give. When I did have to go that route before my 2 years of waiting for Medicare, I had to see a specialist to get a referral to see a doctor I had been seeing since I got Medicaid. Hopefully, they have to have some system to cover those medications since many that are disabled need those kinds of things. They nor Medicare will cover my Xanax even though three doctors have written letters that that is only one of the medications that help my anxiety somewhat. We tried Klonopin and all the other benzo's and Paxil and several other things and they don't work. I've been paying out of pocket. I get 180 pills a month since I take 6mgs a day. This weekend, I searched online and found a discount card. Now instead of paying $90 I only have to pay $15! That is a great thing for me, because I haven't been taking the medication. I'm still on the same bottle I bought in October. I still have 20 percent copays with Medicare, plus have copays on my prescription drugs. Sometimes, my lab work is not covered if considered preventative and I get stuck with those as well. I was really grateful to find this discount program:) <man_u8@...> wrote: I all, hope everyone is well and as pain free as we can be. Guest guest
, For Colorado, you have choices on which medicaid plan you want. I choose fee-for-service medicaid. I can go to any docotor I want that accpets medicaid without a refferal which was huge for me. I have $2- 3 co-pays instead fo nothing. They have a list of doctors who accept medicaid, but I couldn't find a list of what medications are covered. I am hoping that now that I am on medicaid, my rheumy will be more willing to prescribe me provigil. My insurance was an exscuse last time. I am planning on seeing a physiatrist to get my mental health medications in order and help me deal w/ my PTSD a little better. My grandma was in the hospital and I had a panic attack when I went to visit her. My nightmares have increased since then and all I have is a little lorazapam to take the edge off. It's not helping anymore. I responded well to klonopin and xanax, so I just have to wait and see. Thanks Steph!! I all, hope everyone is well and as pain free as we can be. Guest guest
That is great! I am hoping they will prescribe the provigil and get you on your infusions! Those are great copays! I think mine for Medicare are $5.60 for name brand and $1.25 for generic. Which is really good! Except for when they don't cover one and I lose my appeal then I have to do out of pocket. I'm so sorry for your panic attack! Trust me, I empathize! I had my first one in fourth grade, and suffered from separation anxiety even before then. I have severe agoraphobia now. I was able to go out yesterday, and it wasn't comfortable but I did it. Today I couldn't leave my drive way as I thought for sure I was going to die! I came in took the Xanax, turned on my sound machine and went to bed! Now, I'm working on an art journal to hopefully keep me distracted for the rest of the evening! <man_u8@...> wrote: , For Colorado, you have choices on which medicaid plan you want.
