MTX & Forced Birth Control

Hi everyone I wanted to run something by you all and see if you have been

told something similar. When I was first put on MTX in February I was told

very clearly " do not get pregnant while taking MTX " and all the other warnings

that come with the drug and that was it.

Do to a language barrier I had to switch to a new RU in March who I thought

jokingly wrote a script stating " NO sex " . According to my new doctor a

condom is not adequate protection while on MTX. He will no longer prescribe me

MTX unless I begin taking birth control pills. I guess what I'm getting at

here is I felt like I was being scolded like a school girl (I'm 31 married with

a 2 year old) and I believe perfectly capable of preventing pregnancy.

Am I missing something from his point of view?
