Hi everyone and thank you for allowing me to join your group! My name is Kami

and I am newly diagnosed RA after a case of scleritis in my left eye which

started on my 38th birthday! Happy birthday to me, huh? Actually it is probably

a blessing in disguise (although I did not think so at the time) because FINALLY

my rheumy ordered more specific bloodwork which is how he was able to confirm

the RA. I have to admit that in the back of my mind, I feel that he is missing

something and do hope that I can get this across to him at our next visit. I

feel as if I need a younger doctor who is up to date with the newer treatments,

etc.

I started Plaquenil on Sunday and well... So far so good. I guess we will see if

it helps in a few weeks or so! I am currently undergoing liver testing to see if

I can go on methotrexate. I have been experiencing elevated liver enzymes since

the end of September so I was already undergoing tests when I developed the

scleritis. BTW, if I never experience scleritis again in my life it will be too

soon. It also scared the bejeezers out of me!

I have also suffered from Fibromyalgia since what feels like forever but was

officially diagnosed in 2001. I also found out in 2002 that I had/have Lyme

Disease. Some days I feel as if I am an enigma, and then other days like a

puzzle that has a few missing pieces. I am hoping in 2008 to find a medical

professional that can put all of these pieces together!

If anyone from this list is on the Eastern side of PA and can recommend a doctor

in the burg, town, or Philadelphia area, please drop me an email.

Thank you!
