hmmm wonder if the prednisone is causing the heart to race. I was only on

5 mg and i had that. Im only now on five pills of the methotrexate and i do

get the foggy feeling like i forget things in mid sentence as well. This

week for some reason i am not so tired. I guess I would check with my doctor

if

your heart is racing.

Last Friday, I posted this to the list -- my first time. There have been no

responses to it. Don't know why.

Hello,

I have recently joined this list after being diagnosed with RA at 64. I've

also had Crohn's for a very long time.

I was put on 25 mg of Prednisone 2.5 weeks ago, changed to 20 mg on

Wednesday.

I did my first dose of Methotrexate on Monday. 6 pills. Monday, I had a

headache, Tuesday, extreme fatigue, headache and felt like my head was

stuffed

with straw. I was surprised when I could actually think or remember

anything.

Wednesday, more of the same. I teach a line dancing class Wednesday evening.

We

start out slow and easy and work our way up to more difficult. Once the

endorphins kicked in, I felt great. But after a couple of hours, my chest

felt

like something was swollen in it. Pressure around the heart and lungs. That

lasted most of the day on Thursday as well. Thursday night I danced a little

again and felt great afterwards. Like a fog had finally lifted. This

morning, I

awakened after six hours of sleep with a rapid heart beat.

The rapid heart beat started a little even before I started the MTX.

Does anyone else have side-effects in their chest?

I've already gotten a lot of information from this list. I wish I had

started the MTX Sunday evening, but I didn't.

I am sorry that you are having trouble with chest problems, I haven't been on

metho for a long time but started it again last wednesday 4 pills I weened

myself off predisone a month ago I am currently taken humira it didn't seem to

help all that much. The metho made me very tired for the first 24 hrs and I have

had a light headache every now and again. When I was on it before I got mouth

sores and had to have medicine for it They took me off of it because I was

having bad blood work results but I didn't know way back when You can't drink

because it effects the result of the blood work. My advice is call your dr. let

him know the problems maybe he can help. hope this advice helps

Sorry you did not get an earlier reply. I am very sporadic in checking

e-mails. Don;t mess around with a rapid heart rate. It may be nothing but it

could

be a symptom of a more serious problem. It could also be the prednisone. Let

the doctor decide. It is normal to be fatigued for a couple of days after

mtx. linda

Obviously, I am in contact with the doctor. I just wondered if it was

something that is common to those with RA. I'll let you know what he says.

Today I take my 2nd dose of MTX. I'm hoping the fatigue doesn't last quite

as long this week.

Hi dd,

I had a lot of side effects from MTX. I was on it for about 4 months,

and while it was effective, the side effects were finally too much and

my dr took me off of it.

I think you should call your dr with your symptoms and see what s/he says.

Good luck!
