CMS regulates Nursing Home meals to a certain extent. Time between last meal and

next meal. The Feds also are involved with Senior meal sights. As for meals it

is expected that you will provide adequate protein etc based on the RDIs for the

age range you are serving. Does this help?

Also, some states have specific requirements that would in many instances

supercede the Feds. GA has state " interpretations. " The attached Menu

Form for Nutritional Adequacy was developed based on the old FGP and the GA

Interpretations. But, be sure to check around your state for any state

regulations and interpretations. The bottom line is that your menus need to

meet those requirements and Nutritional Adequacy for the age group of

residents in your facility (RDIs for Geriatrics). Hope this helps.
