The ideal candidate should be a Registered Dietitian and licensed or eligible for licensure as a dietitian/nutritionist in the state of Florida and must have an advanced degree (M.S. and/or Ph.D.) in nutrition science or a closely related field. He or she will be knowledgeable about the benefits and implementation of a mostly plant-based, high fiber, low fat, and low salt diet for the treatment and prevention of CVD and type 2 DM as well as for weight control and other diet-related diseases promoted by the typical American Diet. This candidate will be well versed in the supporting scientific literature and ideally should be practicing what he/she will be teaching. The person we choose will have excellent skills in communication, public speaking, writing, individual counseling and be comfortable being part of a dynamic, cutting edge, multidisciplinary team which includes physicians, psychologists, and exercise physiologists. It will be important for this individual to be familiar with PowerPoint and comfortable using this technology as well as be highly computer-literate in general.
