Guest guest
Amina, is the doctor you're going to a rheumatologist? They are best equipped to diagnose these rheumatic diseases. Even so, sometimes it takes a while to get a firm diagnosis. But be aggressive and keep at them to try some medications to see if they help. If it's rheumatoid arthritis, ibuprofen won't do much for it; you would need to be on a DMARD (disease-modifying arthritic drug) as soon as possible. What does the doctor say about the blood work? I assume they have done that. Sometimes even with that, it's still hard to know just what is going on. Good luck! Guest guest
Diagnosis in some cases can take awhile. I'm seronegative and it was 2 years before they did anything for me. I take DMARDS now but it still does not stop the pain or the inflammation. I have pain daily and inflammation flares in the knees quite badly still. It sometimes can take awhile to find the proper treatment and drug combinations. Some medications take 6 months to build up in the system. A rheumatologist will be the best doctor to see. There are hundreds of inflammatory or arthritis types that it could be islamistheway2000 <islamistheway2000@...> wrote: Hello my name is Amina Well it started out in January of this year. Guest guest
Amina, I have not be daignosed yet either, but am sure I have RA. I am so tired and can't sleep. My body tires out doing things that just a few months ago were no problem. My hands and fingers are always swollen and numb. My ankles are sore. My Gp did all the bloodwork fro RA and says it's all negative. But the x-rays show different. I have 3 sisters a mother and grandmother all with RA. I have an appointment June 11 with a Reumatologist, hopefully she will be able to help. Good luck to you, when is your Dr appointment? > > Hello my name is Amina > Well it started out in January of this year. Guest guest
I know how you feel. I was diagnosed a little over a year ago. I went to the doctor complaining of pain in 1 elbow, 1 knee, both hands and all fingers. She did blood work and my rheumatoid factor was postive. I had to wait 3 months to get in to see the rheumatologist and the pain had progressed to all over my body. I could not do anything. It took me 30-45 minutes to walk down 3 flights of stairs. I did not sleep more than 2 hours every night. I have been on meds for 8 months and I am beginning to feel like my old self. You are not alone!!! Just hang in there. Guest guest
Hello, I have an appt with a specilist on June 17. I can't wait. My doctor has tested me for gout again. I was in the ER last night so much pain I couldn't stand it anymore. I just wish they would give me what I need. I am positive it is RA. I guess the doctors have to be careful wait they say. My RA factor was positive first time and now negative. But I know that not everyone with RA has a positive blood work. So frustrating. > > > > Hello my name is Amina > > Well it started out in January of this year. Guest guest
Hi Amina I am new to this group and like you I have not yet been confirmed as having RA (I am waiting for the result of my RA-factor blood test). My history is *exactly* the same as yours. One foot swelled up, then the other hurt, and now everything hurts! Part of me wants to hear that I have RA, so at least I know and can get some medication, while the other part of me wants to be told it's not RA (but then what is it??) I hope you have seen a specialist and got some help now > > Hello my name is Amina > Well it started out in January of this year.
