Guest guest
Has anyone had chronic rashes due to candida? Permamant hives and itching? Raised red bumps. Itching feet on bottoms and top? Is so has anything helped? Thanks. Maggi
Guest guest
For the past week, my face has been hot, unevenly red, blotchey, and I've had many pimples on my face and in my nose. I don't usually have any pimples at all and my skin is usually smooth. I'm taking only 5 mg of Prednisone (and 100 mg Imuran), so it's not the acne one often gets with the early, high dosage. My eyelids are just swollen enough to possibly account for my feeling out of sorts, dull-witted. I can easily deal with the appearance, but I'm a little uneasy about why this is happening, and I wonder whether it has any medical significance. I feel silly about calling a doctor and saying "Help! My face is breaking out!" On the other hand, I didn't call about thrush until I had a real problem, thinking I just had an allergy. For that matter, I thought I just had an allergy (that itch), until I was so ill with AIH that I had a real problem. I dunno. Has anyone else ever had this sort of skin problem? Guest guest
Hi! The last time that I went to my internist that was one of my complaints (about the skin condition). I was diagnosed with cia and was put on metrogel. So far it has helped me a lot. Just wanted to let you know! God Bless tony
Guest guest
harper, You need to contact the doctor STAT!!! If I my eyes were swollen I would not wait to see a doctor. The skin condition especially the hot part would have me very worried. Do you have a dermatologist and a primary doctor??? If your primary is an understanding doctor I would contact as soon as I could. PLEASE,PLEASE see a doctor right away.... Guest guest
Harper, Never had a skin problem like that but have often seen it in my clinicals.. Tony mentioned it might be cea and it sounds like that from your description and the tx is indeed metrogel. It is a bacterial skin infection of sorts... hmmmm I would be interested to hear what the doc says. Molly Faulkner
Guest guest
Harper that is the way my skin is a lot since going on the prednisone. I don't like it, but am glad the doctor gave me stuff yesterday to help. The blotchyness...sometimes I get that too-but I have forgotten to ask the doctor about it. I get it on my neck all the time----it turns beet red all of a sudden. Don't know why. Guess I best ask the doctor next time. Go ahead and call Harper because like you said with the thrush, it went too long before seeking that help. Better safe than sorry! debby Re: [ ] Skin For the past week, my face has been hot, unevenly red, blotchey, and I've had many pimples on my face and in my nose. I'd asked about rosacea a few years ago, when I first read about it. She said (at that time) that my skin was basically unusually clear and that it had just become irritated. Then, (pre-AIH), she suggested I use a lotion with a very high percentage of cortisone (prescription only) for two weeks and use Aquanil Lotion to wash my face. Aquanil is extremely mild and extremely inexpensive, and I love it. Very soon, my skin was in shape again. I don't think I have the same problem now. I mention it in case some of you have generally irritated skin that this treatment might help. Harper

Guest guest
When Candida has grown roots, they penetrate the intestinal wall. Toxins travel through it. Consequently, toxins reach the skin surface since the skin is an excreting organ. That is how many people develop skin conditions (there are other factors). Sugar, fried foods, caffeine, alcohol, dairy (milk, cheese, butter, cream), birth control pills, stress, vitamins and mineral deficiencies are the number one enemies of the skin. You can go to different health food stores. They have many books that you can go through. Also ask for help. Ask as many people as you can since not everybody that works in there knows what they are talking about. Search on the net. Make sure you are buying what you need and not wasting your money. Good day/luck, <fruitloops@...> wrote: well can someone tell me what to take for it i think i have it but not sure i have a coated tongue and I feel terriable and eat pizza once in a while what can I do thanks debbie From: Pete [mailto: greekman735@...] candidiasis Date: Wed, 26 Feb 2003 03:33:08 -0000 Subject: Re: Skin " smoothness/oil production " and candida > > When my candida is out of control my skin gets rough and dry. > When I start to eat better or kick in a serious candida > treatment my skin feels smooth again. Guest guest
I may have found some answers to the question I just posted. Androgens and estrogen may be the problem. Sometimes, I think I have symptoms of excess estrogen and sometimes the opposite. We'll see... I get tested in 1 month..... http://www.salivatest.com/overview.html _________________________________________________________________ Enjoy a special introductory offer for dial-up Internet access — limited time only! http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/dialup

Guest guest
I think there's a file in the files section that addresses this. If I remember correctly you don't get any bigger bang for the buck by using more skin compared to a smaller area. I think that more skin was associated with higher DHT levels and in the study the application to the smaller area was spread out throughout the day. I hope this helps. > I was taking 2 packs Andro, 1 pack on 1 arm and 1 pack on the other. > Maybe I was putting too much on a small space. Guest guest
> > Hi, > My skin is very dry on my body and unhealthy and oily on my face. I > know I should up my intake of vitamin A. How much should I take each day? Does anybody know what vegetables are rich in vitamin A? ==>True vitamin A is retinol, which is an oil soluble vitamin. It is contained in cod liver oil or halibut liver oil. To help your skin you can safety take 100,000 IUs per day so it's best to buy it in a separate halibut liver oil capsule (without vitamin D), but after 1 month stop taking it for 2-3 days, and then continue for another month, and so on. Dry skin also needs plenty of good saturated fats, i.e. coconut oil & butter & lard; water cannot be utilized by the cells unless you have enough good fats - see the Links (menu on the left) for the article by Dr. Cowan on Dry Skin. ==>The richest source of vitamin A is beef liver. Vitamin A in vegetables isn't as useable because it is beta carotene which must be converted to retinol in the body, and most candida sufferers are not able to do that conversion. The best sources of vitamin A are animal meats, fish and eggs. If you want to check out nutrient contents in foods see our Folder on it - I can't remember what it is called. > > Also I was wondering if it would be ok to take cod liver oil capsules instead of the liquid. The liquid is so...fishy and tastes vile I tried being strong and taking it for 2 days but I can't anymore it leaves the most horrid taste in my mouth. ==>Yes, but do ensure you take enough capsules to equal 800-1200 vitamin D and 3,000 mg omega 3. Have you tried taking cod liver oil liquid in hot tea? It waters down the taste somewhat and covers up the flavor. Bee

" I think most on the group have felt the same, perhaps even, numerous times. Yes, I'm not a 100%, however, I do not suffer from those symptoms any longer, for quite awhile, now. Yeah, I hear ya, mid back & shoulder, an itch so far... yet so close out of reach ;-]. Anyway, no problem , just take a towel @ a good length apart with both hands and give your back a good scrub .. lol However, be warned, the scratching can make the itch worst. Just so you know all the pros & cons. Again, be patient, nothing bad last forever.
