If you don't, at least call your family Dr. He may want to see you or tell you to go to ER anyway. I'm a nervous ninny when it comes to other problems with RA. I got a swollen lip out of the blue and freaked out and called the doctor. I hope you start feeling better soon!! Good luck! Paris [ ] When to contact Dr with a virus or bacteria? Guest guest
Dalanne here again. I finally fell asleep and woke up in time to worship porcelain again. I am to head to my GP Dr at 1:30 this afternoon and my mother will be driving me. She is worried so this will give her something productive (taking care of her only baby) to do. My general question still stands though. Be it a head cold, flu bug, sinus infection, any of the usual suspects....how do we who have malfunctioning immune systems know whether to call our Dr? I have ridden out some truly entertaining 'bugs' my kids have brought home and those just took longer to get over. When do we know that 'this' is more than our body can handle any longer? Thanks for the advice Dodge and Paris. I hope your week will go much better than mine has started out! > > Dalanne, > > If you are showing signs of dehydration, I would definetly go to the ER. Guest guest
Hi Dalanne, I know your dilemma, my Rhuemy said to see my GP for all but the most minor infection yet when you go he just says it's just a virus & " she'll be right " & " that'll be $55.00, thanks " . GRRRR. Certainly encouraging repeat business... Most health sites encourage you to go to the doc for the most minor thing, most likely to cover their " ahem " 's. If you vomiting etc you should probably go now so you don't become too dehydrated, a problem to avoid with some of the RA med's we take. Hope you feel better soon. Guest guest
I know from my point of view, I tend to catch everything going around which is hard working in assisted living. And sometimes I recycle my own store of viruses!! If I feel a lot worse than usual I tend to go to the doctor.
