So what's average? I mean Ann lost 12 lbs of flab, Tracey lost 6. Tracey, did

you start out larger or is it because Ann was heavier when she had her TT,

and more fatt tissue was removed with the skin?I look at my belly loped over my

pubis and think....God, they'll get 40 lbs....LOL.

Also If I have my hyst at the end of this month, do you think that they

will do plastics at the end of summer or early fall(assuming I stay good and

lose another 50 or so) or is that too soon for another elective surgery....I

even though about seeing about the arms as soon as early summer but didn't know

if they'd do something that soon after the hyst.

I just want the arms done....They are up front and out there....I know in

the summer I'll probally hate my belly more, but right now these arms are my

biggest worry.

Laurie,

Private to a point. You have a fold-down bed for your support person and

the nurses and support staff wandering in at all hours, but I guess that's

about as private as you can get in a hospital. Just remember, the nurses

get the post-ops up and walking within hours after they get to the room.

You'll also get an assist from one of them for your showers, etc. And of

course, the ng tube and cath removals are also handles by the nurses and

they teach your support person how to empty the drain bulbs.

Up side is you'll be to drugged up to really care. LOL

I guess I was lucky. Only one NA came into my room without knocking first.

Everyone else always knocked on the door and asked it was OK to come in.

Even in the middle of the night they would do that. The only one who

wouldn't was Necita - she would walk in, and flip the lights on in the

middle of the night. She was the only staff member I didn't like.

You'll love Carmen and her wonderful showers and lotioning of your body. She

is a true gem!!

They took off exactly 2 lbs, 11 oz of skin when they did my hernia

repair and TT, Ray remembers that was what Dr Z came out and told

him. It is AMAZING that my hanging tummy that felt like it weighed 20

lbs was barely 3!!! Dr Z told us that they used to WAY overestimate

how much weight a person would lose during a TT, but he said it is

usually a lot less then you expect it to be.

HI NICOLE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO U & YOUR FAMILY ABOUT YOUR GRANDMA....

I'VE BEEN OUT DUE TO A BROKEN ARM SO THAT'S Y I'M RESPONDING LATE... I HOPE U

FEEL BETTER SOON, TAKE IT EASY THOUGH CUZ U WOULD NOT WANT TO HAVE A SET BACK...

I'M HAVING A HARD TIME AS WELL. GOD BLESS,MELYNDAGAMEZ 9/1/08 9:03P.M.CENTRAL

,

I had saved this message to respond and just realized this morning

that I never did!!!! So sorry.

My heart goes out to you about your grandmother. I pray that your

grief is getting a little better. All of my grandparents were gone

by age 11. I wish there had been some way that could have been

different. My mother's mom died 4 days before my 4th Bday, but thank

God I do still remember her. Amazing, I can't remember to take my

meds!

I know that you have had your surgery and I hope that you are

recouping well. This sounds simple and I know it is not, but please

take it easy. Healing correctly is so important.

Please don't think that I didn't take notice or care. I just got too

wrappped up in myself, I guess.

I pray that you have a blessed day,

Shirley

Shirley,

Thanks for your prayers. My surgery is scheduled for this Thursday.

I know I need to heal completely...I am impatient, which gets me into

trouble alot. I try to do things too soon and I tend to make myself

worse. Thank you for your support.
