Katy,

Congratulations on your weight loss!! That's great! And thank you so much for you encouraging words. I am hanging in here and last night my daughter tempted me so much with a Nacho Bell Grande from Taco Bell (my favorite) that it wasn't even funny, but my will power worked for once!

I really thought about you asking me why I wanted to lose weight and to think about that....well, I just feel better and have more energy. The more energy is the biggest factor since I have Fibromyalgia and the energy level is ziltch! I want to lose another 40 lbs.

Thanks for caring,

SharonHi everyone: I started out this program with a rather dismal 0.6 lb loss the first week and was really discouraged. I discovered this group, and got lots of encouragement. The second week I was down 2 pounds; then I missed a week due to my car's alternator going out and was unable to attend my meeting, so this week's weigh in was for two weeks - and I lost 8.4 pounds! I've had a serious case of bronchitis and am on antibiotics that make my mouth taste like aluminum, so needless to say, have no appetite - so am going to really need to be careful if I ever get over this bronchitis, to keep from gaining. But my total is 11 pounds in 4 weeks and, since I'm almost 100 pounds overweight, I'm very pleased with that.My thoughts are with Sharon - I think, Sharon, it helps to be really clear about why you want to lose weight and put those goals in plain sight on cupboards, refrigerator, etc. I don't know what your reasons are; my big motivator is that I can barely walk due to knee pain and if I don't reduce the pressure on my knees, I'll be in a wheelchair. Since I"m a person who loves hiking, walking, and the outdoors, being in a wheelchair would be a real drag for me - if it were from a condition I could do something about, such as overeating. So be patient with yourself, getting mad at yourself won't help - just try to understand your conflicts. We're all going to have rough times when this program just seems too difficult. Thanks, everyone, for the support!Katy in Oceanside, California
