Guest guest
Hi Dodge, Do hope your graft appt proceeded as well as possible. Your troubles with Soma would seem to fit with withdrawal effects, they may be unduly delayed because the ingredient carisprodol is also converted to meprobamate in the body. This drug (meprobamate) was developed way back as a sedative/ tranquiliser, predating the diazepines. Like them, short term use only is ideal because withdrawal is so difficult, and tolerance develops requring increasing doses for same control. (Withdrawal quickly may cause shakiness, agitation, sleeplessness.) So a bit of a vicious circle really, though I can imagine how you have needed the drug for when your spasms are unbearable. Note: Because of the above and recreational misuse Soma cannot be prescribed in UK since 2007. Interstingly the notification cautioned about stopping suddenly, because of possibility of mini seizure type episodes on withdrawal. Best wishes retired doc UK > > I have taken two Soma every 4 hours since early wednesday morning. The muscle spasms finally bbroke and I can finally stop taking them. I was fine while on them, but off them...I've been temporarily venched. I'm stuck in the dispatch center because my hands/arms are so shaky, it's as if they don't belong to me! My director, (and rightly so), doesn't want to take the chance that I'll compromise patient care. I will get to return to doing what I do best as soon as they stop. I keep hitting letters that I don't need, keep overusing the ones I do an just generarrly making a mess of things... Anyone else had this before? > > -- > Dodge >
