Oh DD, I'm cracking up over here!!! I guess telling people you have

Tourette's is as good a cover up as any for being blunt about

people's stupidity!! It amazes me how rude people can be.

I was 17 when I had my first daughter and had just moved home after

having left my abusive husband. My mother and I were in the store one

day with my new baby and this woman, who had known my mother for

years, came up and said in her very shrill and nasaly voice " Oh,

Clara, I didn't know you had another baby! " My mother (whose name was

) tried to be gracious and tell her that the baby was her

granddaughter, to which this ignoramous replied " Oh, I didn't know

she was married! " HELLO! Granted this was 1978, but did this woman

just crawl out from under some rock?!?! And HELLO! I was standing

right there, yet she chose to talk to my mother about me like I was

invisible. Amazing!.............Doreen :)
