Guest guest
I am a longtime brittle asthma patient. Yes, you can take the prednisone all at one time. The best is to take it in the morning so as not the disrupt your sleep at night. I never divide my dose, and believe me I have taken prednisone MANY times with this wonderful asthma. I used to be a frequent flier for our local emergency room. Then finally a pulmonologist got it under control be adding the 3rd steroid inhaler. Good Luck,,,,,Maxine

Guest guest
You can take all of your Prednisone first thing in the morning unless your doctor wants you to spread it out during the day. I've been on Prednisone numerous times for asthma and I had always divided it up among the day. I finally found out that I could take it all at once in the morning, and my side effects such as not being able to sleep lessened after not having to take any after early morning. Guest guest
There is no way I could drop off every 3 days! BTDT So far I've dropped every 3 weeks and may have to longer than that if I have the same experience as my last try. My new meds week starts tomorrow, so I'll see about taking all 7.5 mg in the AM. If there's a problem, I can always split it up again. I used to know the half-life of Pred, but too much time and drugs since then. Guest guest
hi, Dennis! I found I could not sleep if I took the pred. anytime other than with my breakfast...give your doctor, or pharmacist a phone call. A simple question as yours could probably be answered over the phone. gentle hugs! Guest guest
Melynda, I've been taking 5 mg each morning and 5 mg in the evening since 1990, sometimes taking another one (5 mg) to allow me to do more when I needed to. I never took more than that in a single day and not for more than 2 days of boost at a time. I've been on 5 mg AM and 3.5 mg PM for the last 3 weeks, and have changed to 7.5 mg per day, all in the AM. If it seems to become a problem, I can always go back to AM and PM doses. Because I'm getting worse as time goes by, I think I'm going to try for a chair for the inside and can use the big scooter outside. It's impossible to try to maneuver that 4 feet long scooter more than in and out of the door to keep it out of the weather. This morning it took about 5 minutes to turn it around so I could go for the newspaper, so am going to leave it on the porch until I can walk more than a few steps at a time.
