Please, help me out : recently , I have been under a lot of stress and

then the diagnosis for RA was made...should I mention that tomorrow?

I am a very strong person & I have managed to overcome many

obstacles....but is there a relationship between stress & RA?

Although it's never been proven, I do believe that yes, there is a link between

stress and RA. This subject came up on this group not that long ago. People

were saying how their RA first manifested after something traumatic or stressful

happened in their lives. I know that was definitely true in my case.

I wouldn't say that stress brings RA on, but it definitely brings it out.

most definetly a relationship. my doctor said it was probably the trigger that

started my RA.  Good luck.  Paris

I really don't know what the link is but I truly feel there is one. I

know stress will cause predestined conditions to surface. Stress

kills.

My personal calmer is birds, I have many feeders in my yard. I sit on

my porch and watch them and listen to them sing. They lift my heart.

I know the strength that has seen you through so much is still there.

I pray that you will overcome this stress very soon.

I truly hope that this is a much better day for you.

Sorry about your recent diagnosis of RA. Just knowing that is SO

stressful. I do know, stressing just seems to aggrivate it. You

mention everything, and write it down if you need to. I write things

down, because I forget so many things anymore,(Fibro Fog.) You might

need something to calm your nerves to, do you have anxiety? I know my

daughter has anxiety, and she worries about everything. Just tell

your doc. There is not a lot you can do about RA, except try to deal

with it. Try to talk to the doc about the RA meds. When you can,

just take a nap, just rest your body, it needs it. I use to stress

big time, but now I'm real laid back, take my meds, and just take care

of myself. Good luck, Tawny

((())) - I'm so sorry to hear you are under so much stress. In

my experience, stress does make my RA and FMS flare up. I try so hard

to keep things calm and peaceful, but sometimes stress can't be avoided

and I surely do feel the pain. I would mention it to your Rheumy or

your PC - perhaps they could give you something to help with the

stress. Take care and deep breaths..........Doreen :)
