Guest guest
Red wine is supposed to be good for you. It's even recommended for diabetics. I keep thinking that I'll start drinking it, but I haven't yet. Sue On Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 05:43 PM, Paquette wrote: > If you find any cures with wine, please let me know!!! Guest guest
Hey Ive been reading lots about methotrexate and any non uk sites seem to suggest no alcohol intake yet the leaflets i was given to read over and other sites ive seen say you can have 1-2 units per day. I asked my nurse and she said you have to stick to the 1-2 units or you could get sick (as in vomiting) so since ive been on it ive continued to have a glass of wine, if i go over my units i get a terrible headache and a hangover that makes me feel like ive drank gallons and not just a few units!! I am a bit scared of overdoing it especially now my methotrexate is up to 20mg per week, but RA takes a lot away from life so until im told different ill enjoy my wine also i was told that when on mtx you should drink loads of water to flush it through your body quicker so if i do have a glass of wine i make sure to drink water before bed and plenty the next day, just in case! My mom had severe RA also. I went through Plaquenil, sulfasalazine, and MTX, remicade, and now on Enbrel only due to side effects of all the aforementioned. Hoping much success with your treatments. When I first started on it, I couldn't get enough water. I felt like pouring the water directly into the toilet...if u know what I mean! Paris Re: [ ] Re: What Grandma said..
