Guest guest
Wow! Only 2 out of 6?! There were 6 of us and 5 are redheads. I thought for sure my son would be a redhead, but nope, he's a blonde and a clone of his father - even got his bloodtype. I got mine from my father who went gray in his 20s but still has red eyebrows I got the RA genotype from him too. His fair skinned, brunette, mother had it. He feels sort of bad, but I said, hey, what the heck, if I had to have RA to be here, I'm just glad to be around I hope what your husband heard was wrong. I can't imagine us dying out! I had heard that 4% of the US population was red, but that was years ago. Re: [ ] sun sensitivity My mother was a redhead, but I didn't inherit that trait. Out of six of us, only two got the red hair. One of my grandsons has red hair, but his maternal grandfather has red hair, too. My husband heard on the radio that there are fewer and fewer redheads, and eventually there won't be any more. I certainly don't believe that. Guest guest
Ha! Though I am a brunette with red highlights, my mother had reddish hair and colored it even redder when she was older. All my kids have red hair... I have 5 living children! Some are a bright strawberry red, others are more auburn red! Our family will single-handedly re- populate the world red haired! Guest guest
Yes, and one sister and I got blonde hair. I have no earthly idea where that came from, as I've not seen it in anyone else in my mother's family or my father's family. My other sister, the redhead, has a blonde granddaughter. I guess she takes after me and my other sister, LOL. Sue On Friday, May 16, 2008, at 05:16 PM, Fair wrote: > Wow! Only 2 out of 6?! Guest guest
My dad and both of his sisters were redheads. Both my siblings and I have/had red hair (getting a little gray now - as a friend from high school said, " Your fire went out. " ) None of my 3 children have red hair but 2 grandsons do!!!!! I know it's a recessive gene, but so is blue eyes. Don't think it's going to fade away in my lifetime! Roselyn - Louisiana > > I hope what your husband heard was wrong. I can't imagine us dying out!
