Guest guest
I did PT for my shoulder as well. Totally a waste of my time, luckily our insurance covers all this. About the only thing that she had me do was ride on a bike with the hands that went back and forth, supposedly to strengthen the shoulder. The only other thing we did was she had this thick band that attached to the top of the door and did where I pulled on it. For me none of this helped at all. Most of the things they did I could also do at home, such as raising my arm to the ceiling and back down, I would never pay out of pocket knowing this now. My hubby also had to to PT on his knee and honestly with a gym he does the same stuff, ride a bike, use the leg machine ect. I have never had any relief from my shoulder until recently and what has worked for me is arobics and just doing some basic exercises. You could always go and ask them to show you some exercises to do at home and see Tammie In a message dated 5/22/2008 3:15:21 P.M. Guest guest
Hi CC, This is Steph in VA. I had 8 PT visits last year after a car accident (at $40 a pop). Personally, I found it to be a waste of time and money. First of all, I went to a new PT clinic and I had 7 different therapists over 8 visits, which meant I had to tell my story all over every visit (we all know how much fun that is). All they did was heat therapy and 5 or 6 exercises that I was already doing. And it didn't help my pain. I would suggest trying it for 1 or 2 visits. It may help you. Take care, Steph I need to ask this question but i am afriad ill sound stupid. but here goes--does RA show in mris? Right now i am extremely frustrated and in pain and now have no answers. Guest guest
Hello I'm new to the board, and recently diagnosed with RA. In Febuary I had proximal row carpectomy surgery in my left wrist and was ordered to PT 3 times a week. I don't think it was worth it for me. Believe it or not, the thing that worked the most was playing with my daughters Nintindo DS ( hand held video game ). I'd have to say, home exercises works just as well. Take care and have a great day! -- In , DeNicola- <stephdenicola@...> wrote: > > Hi CC, > This is Steph in VA. I had 8 PT visits last year after a car accident (at $40 a pop).
