I wouldn't say I had a bad experience at the PT last week, just a 'was

that all' experience. It was mostly a do this exercise and I'll be

back, now do this exercise and I'll be back. No, history of why I was

there. r what we will be doing. I felt like I just wasted $35

dollars, that I frankly don't have that to throw around right now. My

Rheumy has only done a x-ray of my lumbar spine. It showed 'mild bone

degeneration " or at least that it what his receptionist told me. I

have not had a MRI of any joint except my hip(septic, not for this).

We have been ruling out what was causing the pain in my right knee and

hip. He thinks it's sciatica. In the meantime, the pain is getting

worse. The insult to injury is that I have told every doctor I have

seen for twenty years, that I have back pain, both lumbar and

cervical. The answer I got was to 'exercise', and it's not RA. Even

RA doesn't cause problems with your back (not the current Rheumy, I

like him). It's getting to the point where I can't walk through a

store let alone do any exercise that involves standing.

So, what do you expect when you go to PT?

Thanks for listening,

I spent over a year in physical therapy for my bilateral femoral syndrome and my

fibromyalgia. I'm getting ready to go back on a new order for things to help

the RA. I went until Medicare wouldn't let me go anymore (I met the cap

requirement). The stretches they show you take some time to work on but they do

actually help keep my muscles in better shape than when I was not going. They

try to help show you things that eventually when they see improvement that you

will be able to do at home on your own. I have some knee and neck and back

exercises that were sent home with me to work on. I had to go to PT 3 times a

week. This time my order will be for whatever is going on with the pain in

ankles and feet. I was sent to hydrotherapy which was much easier on my joints.

It is quite painful at first as things that are wrong they are trying to fix. I

spent a great deal of time with my heating pad and then the decision was made to

send me into the pool.
