Guest guest
Is it normal to get flu like symptoms in a very bad flare? I've been in bed for the past couple of weeks (the past 7 days straight) due to pain everywhere. Finger joints, heels, back, everything is extremely stiff as if I am made of concrete, and both knees are warm. Not much has seemed to help. I go to my rheumatologist on June 2nd. I was going to try to go earlier than that but remembered the reason I had to wait the extra week this time (13 instead of 12 was because she would be away from the office). I've my fingers crossed that I'm not coming down with something while in this flare. I'm having problems swallowing, am extremely nauseated with dry heaves (I don't usually get stomach viruses or have this problem). I've a slight headache but have been clenching my jaws through the pain. My temp is only 99 so far but it tends to run low usually (97 degrees) on most days. I'm hoping this is just a really bad flare vs. a really bad flare and a virus
Guest guest
hi stephanie, im sorry to hear your sick. stephanie when i have a bad flare & might be sick or coming down with somthing i get really sick! sometimes i literally cant get out of bed due to the pain.. just recently i was very sick & i did not know what was wrong with me. i had major pressure in my head, stiffness & tingling sensation up & down my left arm down to my feet, shortness of breath & nauseated along with difficulty swallowing.they ran all these kinds of tests on me,you name it they ran it!! well to make a long story short, i had a severe sinusitises problem. it hurt soooo bad!! i was in the hospital for 4 days because they wanted to make sure i did not have a mild stroke or heartattack, thats how bad i was & it sux! so yes you can have flu like symptoms along with a flare. you need to be thouroughly checked out, stephanie because whatever meds you take they could make matters worse for your health!!! believe you me i learned alot about meds & being sick with a cold or flu & then the meds you already take for your ra.. its not gooooood if you dont know about the mixing of meds... i HOPE YOU start to FEEL BETTER SOON,STEPHANIE.god bless, melyndagamez 5/21/08 12:37a.m.central [ ] Flu like symptoms in a flare?
