Guest guest
I found this Diane, Rheumatoid arthritis <http://arthritis.about.com/od/rheumatoidarthritis/> is classified as an inflammatory polyarthritis because it involves many joints all of which are damaged to some degree by inflammation and it's sequelae. I am going to my PCP today. I was in tears last night after a 12 hour shift my hands and wrists were so painful. At work they noticed how red and swollen my fingers were and my palms were fire red and burned. Today I woke up feeling horribly stiff and sore and got better as a I moved around a bit. I called DR yesterday from work and he wants to see me today. Guest guest
They like to stick that polyarthritis on newly diagnosed. & nbsp; I think before they definitively say it's RA that they like to see more symptoms than swelling and pain, regardless of the basic blood profiles. & nbsp; For the first three years I had RA/Polyarthritis on my charts. & nbsp; Shandi From: Deb N & lt;deb38n@... & gt; Subject: Re: [ ] Whats this!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Diane, Dont worry .This is just medical jargon, detailing for your records what kind of arthritis you have. It still fits with likely RA. Inflammatory arthritis includes RA, and other types that tend to involve many joints (poly just means many),especially small joints, and often have other wider effects on the body, often very variable due to the body's immune response, in contrast to osteoarthritis e.g. The rheumatoid factor shows your body has developed an auto immune respose, and CCP is just another more recently developed antibody test, which can often be found in particularly active rheumatoid. The levels of these may vary over time, and are not always positive. Classifying the RA in this way can help suggest to to the doctor which treatments might be of most benefit for each patient, especially as more options become available. Hope this helps retired doc in UK [ ] Whats this!!!!!! I received my letter from the docter at the cleveland clinic...origanally I talk to him friday and started treatment with mtx and was under impression that it was maybe ra....But what about this wording for my dx...RHEUMOTOID FACTOR POSITIVE (CCP NEG) INFLAMMATORY POLYARHTRITIS? ?????Does any body else live in ohio and goes to the cleveland clinic????DIANE __________________________________________________________ Sent from .
