Guest guest
Because of a recent discussion on one of the lists about protein/amino acids, I started thinking about stuff we learned in school and/or told our patients that we now know to not be " true " or " healthy " or accurate. We as a profession promoted margarine because we didn't know about trans fats until much later. We went back and forth about PUFA and MUFA and which were better or preferable. Eating eggs is another one. In my research for articles on menopause, I learned a lot about what isn't necessarily a recommendation for the masses (ie, soy) to reduce hot flashes. So I've been wondering, what other recommendations/beliefs have we backtracked on or changed our recommendation after more research became available. Would appreciate input. Thanks.
